Feedback from my teacher Siobhan. (I’ve already made some changes at the background trees.) I just wanted to share her feedback, because it means a lot to me. ♡
Wow!! This is fantastic, I’m so excited to see this, it’s always wonderful to see work coming out of a course, so thank you for posing this. I love that you added in a character – did you paint this character as well, if so that’s awesome. Overall, in terms of feedback you’ve done an exceptional job here, this is a fully complete and cohesive background painting. There is great composition and a wonderful sense of depth. The added boat really finishes it off (now, I want to go back and add in a boat to my painting!! haha)
One small point I’ll make is to have another look at the trees on the left hand side – there are a couple of trees that don’t have snow on them and they are standing out a bit. I would suggest adding a bit of texture on them, or making them slightly darker, more muted so that they fade in to the background a bit better.
Other than that this is great! Thank you so much for sharing your work. And I can’t tell you how much your feedback means, it’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed the course. When you said the courses help you on your way, though you’re not sure to where ….. I just want to say: you’re on your own artistic journey, and for me the journey itself is what is more important than having some defined “end goal’ to get to. You’re an artist right now, creating wonderful things. That’s so exciting. Enjoy! and I hope to see more of your work in the future 🙂
