Sustainable Fashion Summer Pop-Up in Amsterdam

Sustainable Fashion Summer Pop-Up. Throughout the month of August, the Sustainable Fashion Collective (SF/Collective), together with the brands el.résidu, The Launch and the bikini brand Via Di Gioia, is organizing a unique Summer Pop-Up at Haarlemmerstraat 72 in Amsterdam. I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening. In this blog, you can read everything you need to know about this special event.

SF/Collective: A Platform for Sustainable Fashion

SF/Collective was founded by Nanette Hogervorst and aims to increase the visibility and sales of emerging sustainable fashion brands. They achieve this through their PR program and the Sustainable Fashion Gift Card. They also publish an annual magazine, in which they show all the brands and projects they collaborate with. This not only concerns fashion brands, but also initiatives such as ‘De Naaierij’, where you can have your clothes repaired, and Lena Library, where you can rent clothes. The aim? To encourage people to view their wardrobes in a new, sustainable way.

Sustainable Fashion Summer Pop-Up

The Summer Pop-Up, which runs until the end of August 2024, is organized by Nanette Hogervorst. This event brings attention to sustainable fashion in a fun and accessible way. The store in Amsterdam is filled with vintage clothing and designer bags. In addition, items from three innovative brands will be sold during the Summer Pop-Up: Via Di Gioia, The Launch, and el.résidu. This pop-up event is not just about fashion, but also about raising awareness about the impact our actions have on the environment.

The entire pop-up event will continue until the end of December 2024. In addition to selling various sustainable fashion brands, it also offers various workshops and events. In October, for example, you can have your own clothing embroidered with a personal design.

Via Di Gioia: A Bikini for Every Cup

Via Di Gioia, founded by Charlotte van Oorschot in 2020, offers a line of sustainable, ethically made bikinis, specifically designed for women who have difficulty finding bikinis with larger cup sizes. Charlotte’s designs are available in cup sizes A to G and band sizes 70 to 95. Her love for embroidery is reflected in her designs, which adds a personal touch to her collection.

The materials for Via Di Gioia’s bikinis come from recycled plastic collected from the Mediterranean Sea. This plastic is processed into yarn and then locally woven into fabric in Barcelona. This sustainable production process has minimal environmental impact and is powered by solar energy.

The Launch: Fashion On-Demand

The Launch, founded in 2022 by Victorine van der Ven, offers a fresh approach to fashion by tackling the overproduction problem in the fashion industry. Every month, The Launch releases a mini collection. Customers can place their orders, and only then is the clothing produced. As an on-demand fashion brand, The Launch only produces what customers want, preventing excess inventory and waste. The collection primarily consists of leftover and sustainable fabrics, which makes each piece unique and limited.

Victorine’s collections are designed for ambitious women, who value design and sustainability. During the Summer Pop-Up, The Launch offers a variety of clothing made from vibrant, rich fabrics. Standout pieces that empower women to feel confident and stylish. The on-demand model also allows each item to be customized, making every purchase a personalized experience.
