Share moments together while enjoying an extensive high tea in the cosiest living room in town. Since November 2021, Anne&Max Hoytema has been located at Van Hoytemastraat 53 in ‘Het Benoordenhout’ district of The Hague. It is the fourth atmospheric living room in The Hague; a place where everyone feels at home.
You can come here daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm if you fancy a freshly homemade and mostly organic breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea or a snack platter. A freshly made cup of coffee is of course also part of this. On a sunny day you can sit outside on the terrace.
We received an invitation to get acquainted with this newest, atmospheric living room in The Hague, Anne&Max Hoytema, to taste the atmosphere and to enjoy a breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea, or snack platter of your choice. We wanted to try the high tea.

Anne&Max in the Netherlands | Background story
Wobbe van Zoelen, owner of Anne&Max, opened the first Anne&Max in Haarlem in 2005. He dreamed of opening a business in the middle of the city, where you get the feeling that you are in the living room. A living room in the city! The Netherlands now has a total of twenty-six Anne&Max branches.
In order to deal with the world around us, according to Wobbe van Zoelen, some of the products are produced as environmentally friendly as possible and they continue to actively improve in this area.
Anne&Max Hoytema
In December 2016, Marian and Bob Vuijk opened their first Anne&Max franchise store on Kerkplein in the center of The Hague. Anne&Max’s concept fitted in well with their own ideas of a catering company. The fact that neither of them had extensive hospitality experience didn’t stop them from making it a success. The living room in The Hague on Kerkplein was a great success, after which they decided to open a second location.
In November 2021 they opened Anne&Max Hoytema, their second franchise location on Van Hoytemastraat in The Hague. This living room is located in a neighborhood in The Hague and has a more village character compared to the location on Kerkplein.

Our High Tea experience
We had arranged to meet on a relaxed Sunday afternoon. We wanted to stay at home, but we also wanted to go out. Anne&Max Hoytema is just that kind of place in the city where you immediately feel at home. We were warmly welcomed by Marian Vuijk and she poured us a delicious cup of tea.
We were seated by the window where we could chat while having a nice view of the Hague neighbourhood. The sun shone in, creating a pleasantly lit atmosphere. We took our time relaxed and didn’t feel like we had to rush.
During the high tea we got unlimited tea and various delicacies were served on a round wooden board. We got:
✔️ Scones
✔️ Blood orange curd, clotted cream
✔️ Pumpkin soup
✔️ Chocolate cake
✔️ Carrot cake
✔️ Ham, arugula, pietra cheese and old cheese
✔️ Pesto, muhammara
✔️ Scottish smoked salmon
✔️ Banana bread, brown and white bread
✔️ Macaroons, spicy in taste
✔️ Milk chocolate
✔️ Unlimited Tea
You also had the option to choose vegan.
The shelf was very extensively filled and we enjoyed all the delicacies!

With a full stomach we went to sit in the living room for a while. Super cozy to chill in one of the lounge chairs. While we digested the food, we read a newspaper or immersed ourselves in an exciting book. There was even an old pick-up record player that gave the living room a vintage touch.
Afterwards we received a nice Anne&Max Ecoffee Cup and other eco-friendly surprises and we left with a satisfied feeling.
