Art Circle in Bloemendaal. On a beautiful summer day in Bloemendaal, I participated in the Art Circle, a creative session organized by Roos, the founder of Mandala Monday. This afternoon was not only an opportunity to unleash my creativity, but also to connect deeply with nature and with myself. Read more in my blog about my experiences with the Art Circle.
A Cooling Start in the Forest
The day started with plans to draw in the dunes, but due to the heat, Roos decided to find a cooler place in the forest. She intuitively followed two white butterflies that led her to a beautiful, shaded area. The forest was perfect for our workshop and immediately put us in a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Intuitive Color Choosing
The session began with a simple yet powerful exercise: choosing two colors of chalk pencils. At first, I chose a color intuitively without thinking about it, purely based on feeling. The second color choice was more deliberate, influenced by my thoughts and personal preferences. This simple start helped us let go of our thoughts and focus on what truly came from within.
Meditation and Creativity
After choosing our colors, Roos guided us through a short meditation. We were able to completely relax and connect with the nature around us. With our eyes closed, we started drawing intuitively. We let our hands move freely across the paper, without thinking. The results were surprising and offered a glimpse into our subconscious.
The Art Circle of Creativity
We placed our first drawings in a circle around an altar, which we decorated together with flowers and other natural materials. This circle served as a place to share our intentions and feelings. We also drew cards that were spread out on the ground. These cards carried messages that resonated with our personal journeys and the themes we were working on.
Awakening the Inner Child
Throughout the afternoon, we were encouraged to awaken the inner child within ourselves. This meant playing, experimenting, and creating freely, without worrying about the final result. This gave us the space to truly express ourselves. We were given the freedom to explore different materials and techniques, which led to surprising and meaningful outcomes.
A Valuable Art Circle Experience
By the end of the afternoon, I felt happy with what I had created. The Art Circle helped me come closer to myself and discover my creativity in a new way. It was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to everyone.
